"Slow Decay" (the title says it all) is a desolate, barren 30-minute soundscape, relentlessly repetitive layers of electro-industrial rust and slough as the mechanisms of human life on this planet grind down toward inevitable death and dissolution. This is a concept album in which the unique constricted lo-fi characteristics of microcassette are used to full effect to paint an atmosphere. The lo-fi sound of the microK7 medium is perfectly suited to illustrate the theme.
