MOMA058 - Aaron Abrams - The Person Lizard
Recorded in Orange Park, Florida, USA
October 2013
with an Olympus Pearlcorder S701 microcassette recorder
Side A:
Internet audio processed through various Eurorack modules including the Dalek Modulator (Livewire ring modulator)
Side B:
Various environmental settings, Casio SK-5, Grundig FR-200 SW Radio FR-200 SW Radio
This is one of the freakiest of all of the MOMA albums so far, and there's something not quite "right in the head" about it. Coincidentally, the first side of this album, "Kid Videca", kind of sounds like a continuation of the previous MOMA album, 057. It is as if we are sitting around in the post-digital future listening to Internet era audio files through a translator with our Dalek buddies. The whole thing is disorienting, but when in doubt just remind yourself that the body computer is an electrochemical entity organism - and that MIGHT help. Side B, "Pinky's" is a collage of everyday sounds and shortwave radio that is just as off-kilter and funny in a scary way as the first side.
