MOMA042 - Ça - Ça II
Recorded by Martin Sasseville
Montréal, Québec, Canada
September 2013
A sharp, funny, abrupt, surprise-filled microcassette cut-up tape collage of radio and television samples, street recordings, conversations, machine sounds, audience/crowd noises, and more snapshots of Sasseville's daily life, all punctuated with the sounds of the recorder being turned on and off. We even get to hear Martin sing along with the radio, as well as other vocalizations. I found myself smiling and chuckling as I listened. For some of you who are familiar with Sasseville's harsh noise work under the Wapstan moniker, "Ça II" will be a refreshing contrast that will still please your crazy brain.
